I love the hibernation of winter — it’s not always possible, but I’m happy to slow down, be forced indoors, give my body lots of rest, and take time for reading and writing. It suits me!

I love the cooler weather that winter brings to the desert. The pastel sunsets. The way the stars look so much brighter. The later light and the early darkness. The inward journey.

I love the quiet stillness of winter darkness and knowing that despite the seemingly death dealing cold, new life is in process and will appear.

As fun as curling up under a blanket with a cup of something hot and a good book has been, I’m dying for spring. I miss my gardens. I can’t wait to see the fruit trees in bloom. Discovering which of my herb plants wintered over. Bickering with my husband about what vegetables to plant. Sigh.

I love the coziness of winter, the soft fluffy warm blankets, warm drinks, fun in the snow.
but now I long for spring, and newness and starting a garden,

I love to see the first spring flowers push up through the soil, first snowdrops, then crocus, daffodils and then tulips and bluebells – I love the rhythm and anticipation of Spring every year .
